National Estate Agent BrightSale.co.uk announces tree planting partnership with the National Forest
National estate agent BrightSale.co.uk has teamed up with the National Forest Company (NFC) to launch a campaign to plant a tree in The National Forest for every property it sells.
Brightsale.co.uk will plant one tree to celebrate the sale of each property its sell with effect from today. By planting the trees BrightSale.co.uk will off-set some portion of the carbon produced in the process of advertising and selling each property. Along with continuing improvements in the energy efficiency of new houses, tree planting is a positive action which BrightSale hope will raise awareness of climate change in Great Britain.
Andy Etches, Managing Director of BrightSale.co.uk said: “It is becoming increasingly apparent that we all need to do our bit to help the environment. At BrightSale.co.uk we understand that companies must take a lead. It is not only utilities and heavy industry that leave a carbon footprint. Even relatively energy efficient companies like BrightSale need to make a contribution, and this small step is our starting point. We are delighted to be working with the National Forest Company, and we hope that this campaign will encourage those who live in properties sold by BrightSale.co.uk to be more conscious of climate change in the future.”
Angela Ashmore, Marketing Officer for the NFC said: “Concern for the environment is quite rightly moving up the agenda in all fields of activity. Tree planting is one way businesses and individuals can engage in climate change issues, through their line of work or lifestyle choices. We are delighted that BrightSale.co.uk, a growing business, has chosen to plant trees in The National Forest, contributing to this major environmentalproject in the heart of the UK.”
The Company will be planting the first trees in March 2007. Individuals wishing to discuss ways for their business to get involved with The National Forest should contact Angela Ashmore at the National Forest Company on 01283 551211 or visit www.nationalforest.org

NOTES TO EDITORS:
1. The National Forest area covers 200 square miles ofthe counties of Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. Its objective is to increase woodland cover within its boundaries from an initial six per cent to about a third. No multi-purpose forest on this scale has been created in the UK for one thousand years. To date the proportion of woodland cover for the Forest has already more than doubled to 17 per cent and 7 million trees have been planted.
2. Year by year, The National Forest has been steadily turning what was once one of the least wooded areas of England into a multi-purpose, sustainable forest. The National Forest provides environmental and economic benefits, including landscape enhancement, creation of new wildlife habitats and major new access and leisure opportunities. It is an excellent example of sustainable development Ð with environmental improvement providing a stimulus to economic regeneration.
3. To achieve its objectives, the National Forest Company works in partnership with landowners, local authorities and private business and has strong support from Government, politicians and the public. The Company, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2005, receives grantin aid from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
4. BrightSale is an innovative new estate agency which aims to combine the best elements of both traditional estate agents with private sale online companies. Because it is a full service agency with offices in Surrey and Manchester, BrightSale is able to offer sellers access to the UK's largest portals. But its creative approach to harnessing technology allows us to charge a fee of just 0.5%, including subsidised legal fees for sellers provided through Barnetts solicitors.
BrightSale.co.uk is a venture capital backed enterprise which began trading in November 2006.
